Debut Art Show / Joy & Abundance

I am excited to share my art with each of you and I can not wait until it finds its place on the walls of RED Gallery. This work is a selection of my best work created this year. The year of lockdown, heartache and much confusion. A year of hearing a voice when seeking peace, “Keep painting, just keep painting!”

This collaboration of work is a visual journal seeking a place of peace when all is not peaceful. It’s about a study of joy when the world does not seem so kind. There is hope, great hope, when we focus on what creates our foundation of stability and we also deliberately select joy each day.

Many of these pieces were created with a focus on color and color relationships. And also a great focus on seeking freedom in strokes by turning up my favorite music, claiming the words of inspiration, and writing them with energy in the layers of the painting. Then I take a moment to define the subject like you would search for distinctive shapes in the clouds. The relationship of shapes, colors and composition creates a unique perspective that becomes my personal style.

I keep saying this year, “We are in a moment of struggles, but on the other side we will experience joy & abundance.” Hence the theme of the show.

The meaning of the goldfinch signifies abundance and prosperity. It symbolizes the importance of optimism — the value of happiness, joy, and simplicity in your life. This show is loaded with goldfinch representing joy — the hope of a peaceful tomorrow.  Come experience a moment of peace and look forward to a season of joy and abundance. May you take a little “joy” home with you as a reminder of the great hope in your tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing each of you there. Loving you big!

Inspiration for the Art in the Joy & Abundance Show

Caroline Dehervaud: For her freedom of strokes made through movement. She is represented in Marseille, Australia and UK.

Carin Gerard: Her technique to push back the intensity of color to create a fresh, delicate representation of beauty. She is a California based artist.

Carl Sublett: Once my professor, but alway my teacher of color. I am forever thankful to have studies under Mr. Sublett. I hear his voice and direction often and forever thankful to be influenced by his knowledge of art and his gentle heart.

Maci Fulton:  My sweet, four-year-old, granddaughter that teaches me not to be so tight and exact in my strokes and to enjoy the moment. Thanks Maci for loving to paint with me as much as I love painting with you.
